About this Event

Dear friends in Christ, because of your work, service, and ministry, the faithful of our Archdiocese are provided with many opportunities to deepen their faith, grow in their spiritual life and build community.

As we continue to give ourselves to our respective ministries, we, too, need to take some time with our Lord, retreating in prayer together as a community of leaders. Many of us will be very involved in preparing the many liturgies and activities of Holy Week and Easter. Let us prepare ourselves to journey with Christ and our people through this most Sacred Week.

Please join the Ministries and Outreach leaders and retreat together with us in prayer and fellowship.

Registration deadline is on Wednesday, March 29, at 12 noon.

Our retreat master is Scott Roy. Scott lives in Chilliwack with his wife, Colleen (BC Catholic columnist), and six children, and he has been serving at Catholic Pacific College since 2017. Scott has earned an Associate of Arts degree in the Liberal Arts, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology, and a Master of Arts degree in Systematic Theology from Christendom Graduate School. He graduated the program “Summa Cum Laude” and with distinction, and was awarded an Advanced Apostolic Diploma in Catechetics & Evangelization by authorization of the Holy See, presented in recognition of his competence in the field of catechesis and his personal commitment to teach Catholic doctrine in communion with the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. Previous to working at CPC, Scott was a campus missionary with Catholic Christian Outreach for 9 years, working on Simon Fraser University campus for four years and CCO’s Communications department for five years while he worked on his degrees. He converted to Catholicism from Protestantism in 1999, after studying to become a pastor at a Protestant bible college. Most recently Scott was asked to step in as Acting President for the Catholic Pacific College, after having served as Director of Admissions, and then Director of Development and External Relations.

Scott will guide us on a Lenten Reflection drawing from the wisdom, knowledge and love for Christ of our beloved Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI. In his first reflection Scott will explore the topics of "Zeal for your house", the Triumphal Entry and the Cleansing of the Temple. His second reflection will focus on the three Holy Weeks presented to us, the "original", Christ's own Holy Week, the Liturgical Holy Week that draws us into Christ's, and finally our own "Holy Week", our "taking up the Cross."
